Oscar has already received some great entries already in his competition on www.oscarpistorius.co.za. Today, we hear from two fans, Chanel Eggar and Gabrielle Boys.

Chanel wrote to Oscar, telling him: "Every day I wake up and see people who inspire me. People who don't let things that happen in their life stop them from doing what they want. People with illnesses, disabilities. People who fight for what they want and not give up. People who turn their lives around. I like to do my bit for charity, but one young man who inspired me along with thousands of other people was Harry Moseley. Young boy age 11, who died of a brain tumour, he touched the hearts of so many people, no matter how ill he felt or what he was going through, he carried on raising money to help others. Proud to say I do my bit, along with thousands of others to keep his dream alive."

Gabrielle wrote to Oscar, as follows: "Dear Oscar, Who inspires me? The sport persons I really admire are:
- Oscar Pistorius (of course!) For your athletic achievements, but also because you inspire other disabled people.
- Jesse Owens, for winning 4 gold medals in 1936 in Nazi Germany
- Vera Caslavska, Czech gymnast who won 4 gold medals at the Mexico Olympics in 1968, shortly after her country had been invaded by the USSR. A great gymnast, and I love her 60s big hair! She still looks great now at 70. (http://bit.ly/ICDPHc)
- John Curry, British ice skater for winning European, Olympic and Word titles in 1976. He was probably one of the first sports starts to 'come out' as gay and some of the press gave him a hard time. He was unbeatable during his last year, a fantastic skater.
- Nadia Comaneci, the first gymnast to score 10 at the Olympics. I admired her courage and ability to focus when under pressure.
- Haile Gebreselase - for being such an amazing long distance athlete for so many years,
- Sir Steve Redgrave, for winning 5 Olympic gold medals and becoming GB's most successful Olympian even after being diagnosed with diabetes.
"And last but not least, outside of sport I admire my mum, who will be 79 this year. She's had chronic asthma all her life, she's battled illness and nearly died from pneumonia when I was a child. Despite this she's always been positive and been a wonderful mum. After years of asthma her health's not too good but she still goes to the gym twice a week and does a couple of miles on the treadmill to keep fit."

YOU can ALSO get involved in this exclusive competition by telling Oscar Pistorius who, or what, inspires you!

Oscar said: "So many people inspire me, in athletics: British hurdler Colin Jackson, Namibian 100m and 200m runner Frankie Fredericks and American sprinter Michael Johnson have achieved great things and carried themselves in a very inspirational way.

"Outside of sport I really admire Italian motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi, he is very cool!

"I want you to tell me who or what inspires you and why. Send me an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ."

A winner will be chosen at random on May 31, 2012. Please include your name, telephone number and twitter address. A selection will be published on www.oscarpistorius.co.za and tweeted through @OscarPistorius
